SWIFT AND DECISIVE
and so i have been posted to HQ armour, at sungei gedong. however i'm in the Armour Project Group, WHOAH sounds top secret and mysterious! my main office will be in kranji camp, and the lame thing is i have to report to gedong monday, wed, fri for live run which i cant do cos i'm excused lower limb. oh well it's stay out so i have nothing to complain!
speaking of stay out, i think there's some sort of divine plan God has. why stay out? i've got many friends who kana stay in, tough units. mine's pretty slack I THINK and I HOPE. but i've got to do many things when i'm staying out for the next 1.5 years. i'm going to:
1. get my driving license
2. play for JUMP
3. get new comp?
4. improve guitar skills
5. train some ppl
6. tuition for extra cash?
7. beef up somemore(:
i realised setting goals and plans is real easy, but actually getting down to do it is not that simple. heh. now, for my promotion to corporal! i dunno when but it should be soon! 1 or 2 more months?
anyway, one year ago i can vividly remember studying MY GUTS OUT for prelims/A levels. nostalgic man i tell you, whenever i walk past the AMK library, or some random fast food chain and see J2s mugging their butts off. funny sight to see, but such events bring back good/bad/ugly memories of intense mugging. looking back at the past year, i've seen how much i've grown.
and when i went back to school to collect my cert last tuesday, memories of my school life from sec1 all the way to j2 started gushing out of my memory bank into my mind like how water leaks out of a small crack in a dam.
as i walked up the slope of the hwachong entrance, i can still remember wearing that set of faded biege uniform, carrying a big bag pack with a file, dragging my feet along the concrete ground, sighing and asking myself when would the dreaded A level exams end. as i walked up the slope that day, this time with a different perspective, this time as a soldier, i still sigh and ask myself when would i ORD and get back to studying. the army is a good break for 2 years, but i would rather get back to the books than rifles. the power of knowledge, more powerful than any ammunition or weaponary you can possibly find in the SAF. heh.
as i walked towards my class bench, i can remember the days when it was 7.15am, and i would see J2s mugging away, and as i approached my class bench i could still remember everyone greeting all those that just arrived for another hectic day in school. slackers would be slacking, muggers would be mugging, lazy students would be copying homework, hardworking students would be burried into their notes. this was my JC life.
and so i walked towards the kong chian admin block, the ex-ep3 or ex-cca block. this was were the most time was spent in my secondary school days, in the string orchestra room. ok lah maybe not a lot but i was rather involved in string orch last time but i think i suck at the violin. and so i could remember being a blur 1.56m sec1, lugging my violin case and my bag to this rather spacious room. as i walked towards it, a bunch of NCC or St. John people would go running to the 2nd level. and the NPCC people would obviously be pitching tents again. hahaha!
and there was the AEP block, where painful memories of staying back late to finish up that 3D animation project or painting or sketch(YES i PAINTED but i wasnt that good :( ). hey i have artistic capabilities OK?! i didnt really like my teacher cos she sort of "used" me, but hey man she really opened up some opportunities. Now 3D animation remains as a past memory, something that i dont think i will do again forever. sad huh i had quite a promising future in that, but i've moved on.
aiya no time to write so much about my secondary school life. it was indeed fun too. i loved my bunch of friends in sec school. i loved sec school, it was relaxed and just plain fun. boyish fun, things that boys do without the restriction of any FEMALES. oh well, fun as we can be, the friends i've grown up with are now in the army, all becoming mature MEN.
time really flies, i'm going to be 19 soon, SO OLD! i'm reaching the 2* age next year! oh man!!!
anyway here are tips/pointers/encouragements/hehe/haha/lol/tools in which you can get that stack of notes done and score for prelims/A levels.
1. sleep 6 hours. it's enough.
2. drink coffee
3. sleep in lessons that you think aren't important
4. DO TUTORIALS
5. HIGHLIGHT your notes, and i mean IMPORTANT points not the whole chunks
6. do the TYS!!! i've completed my maths TYS THREE TIMES!!! HEHE
7. select certain schools' prelim papers. some schools are just plain waste of time.
8. take power naps of 10 min everytime u feel tired
9. find the optimal time of studying, night or day or afternoon?
10. memories if you need to
11. practise questions
12. practise questions
13. practise questions
14. time yourself for papers

prelims aren't everything, so dont be stressed you horse babies J2s! by prelim u should roughly know about 80% of your work? around there. by A levels it should be 100% and a few rounds of revision. my prelims i had EESSD, rearranged to become SEEDS, which are seeds that God planted so that my testimony may be shared to inspire everyone. the SEEDS sprouted and became AAAAB! praise God man! it's possible!

what's new?
here are updates in my life:
ARMY IS REALLY SLACK! we're ending our course with effect from tmr. block leave begins on thursday to the following tuesday, but i wont be taking block leave. saving for end year! i hope it will be slack!
anyway, i've been playing a great RTS game called company of heroes. real great graphics and gameplay. the sad thing, my obsolete comp of 6 years isnt able to support it well but only the minimum specs, but it still lags a lot!!! go check it out!

lol!
it's been almost a year since i made a post. i was soooo lazy to update!
anyway, i'm currently serving the nation as a supply supervisor, aka CQMS but NOT A STOREMAN. ok lah something like a storeman but i would prefer to be called a SPEC. HAHAHA! anyway BMT was rather fun cos pes C is sooo slack and my friends are a whacy bunch!
my CQMS course ends in 2 weeks. it's the stay out period already. initially it was stay in, and i went to the gym regularly for about 3 months, and pumped protein. small increase, but hope to continue more in my unit. hehs.
time really flies, the last post was before A levels, and yes one year later i have:
achieved 4As
passed BTT and FTT
earned some cash from the government
2 new guitars!
ok time to sleep it's late, or tmr i cant wake up and will be charged for AWOL.

it's been:
one year since 2006
one year since my last 17th bday
one year since my mom and sis left for china
one year of indepedence
one year of great friendships that spurred me on
one year of mugging for purpose
one year of spiritual growth
one year of building my ministry
one year has done so much. proud of what happened the past year, definitely God's divine plan!
looking back, my relationship with my parents have grown so much. i guess absence really makes the heart fonder.
looking back, my relationship with my classmates have grown much too. got to spend time with them after school, just chilling around, mugging, hanging out etc. they're the reason that i go to school with a smile renewed every morning (except for rainy mornings, i hate the rain!)
looking back, my relationship with my church friends have progressed to a stronger and deeper one. talking about ministry, personal life, opened up our lives. they're the reason why i continue to serve in church.
looking back, my skills in guitar have really grown too. i guess the more you're willing to give, the more you receive. of course it came with practising hard.
looking back, my relationship with God has really grown too. i guess this is the factor that contributed to the rest above. i've learned to trust in Him more, especially during times when it really really sux. the centre of my life, the centre of everything!
now, looking forward, i want to:
1) study real hard and get 4As
2) build more strong musicians
3) venture into jazz fully
4) learn driving and get a damned license
5) earn some cash
6) grow myself and work towards PnW leader goal (will take years :D hehe)
7) stop wasting time on stupid stuff
one year has passed so fast, wonder what's installed for me the next few years. probably a girlfriend? HAHAHA! i wish man. not now or within the next 5 years. =P
oh reihorng and i just recorded 2 songs! quality's not bad, but there's some stuff we need to touch up on!
my head's bursting! got a headache. it's too late already! hahaha!

and revision's getting on track again, after 4-day slacking campaign from thursday to sunday. now back on track, mind focused, and ready to chiong and GROW FAT! i mean, if i ever can grow fat! i just lost 3 kg the last time i measured height and weight! somemore i had my handphone and wallet! not fair! :(

BAHH!
I CANT SLEEP! I CANNOT SLEEP!!! it's already 3 am and i've been trying to sleep for past 3hours and 15minutes, and i just cannot sleep!
this is the first time such weird thing is happening to me. i'm hungry, tired, my eyelids are heavy, my eyes want to close, but my MIND DOESNT WANT TO SLEEP! it's so wide awake like i can still go through tonnes of bio/chem/econs notes even though my eyes dont want to open.
WHY? BECAUSE I DRANK COFFEE AT 9! i swear i'm never going to drink another cup of coffee at such a time because i cannot sleep! ARGH! only to burn midnight oil shall i drink coffee at night!
i'm so dead can, 3 hours before i officially wake up and prepare for school. going to die in school later. i think i'm going to sleep the whole bloody day!!! AHHHH!!! complains sure will come from teachers. oh well, dont blame me, blame the evil drug caffeine!!!

WHOOH!
ok i watched tommy emmanuel on saturday night and he is THE BEST guitarist i've ever seen. in terms of feel, techniques, creativity, no one can beat him! NO ONE! i mean that's how guitar should be played, and he does it damn well on acoustic! MIND BLOWING!
and so the ESS was great, heard there were lots of converts. but i had to do some embarrassing stunt. oh gosh, me in the right mind wouldnt do that man, but it's for entertainment so oh well. haha. and check out this cool dude!
and i'm not sticking to my revision plan! Ah God help me! 5 weeks left!!!

hello!
it's been 3 months since i've posted! hahahaha! super sian of udpating dunno wat to update. my life's more happening man!
anyway just got back all my block tests results. i would say i've improved and done better than expected. shall continue to work hard!
and i got a new bike! or rather my 2nd bike. i didnt have luck with bikes in the past. they always spoil or get rusty. hehe. hopefully this bike would be a workhorse, i mean workbike. hahaha.
got tickets to tommy emmanuel this sat! one of the greatest guitarists! cant wait!

easter!
easter's over! i'm so happy to see the number of ppl crossing the line of faith! and it was fun working with other adults! they're so lame man, always bickering/niaoing/laming/teasing.
anyway i really have to catch up on my studies, but i hope i can really do well for As. i have no interest in science or watsoever and i dunno why i'm in this JC? haha but it's a path i'm led, i shall just follow. hopefully i can get a music scholarship to the US, now that will be AWESOME!

yay!
round one of block test is finally over! i would say i'm pretty screwed? but there's still block test 2, prelims, and...As!!! :O :O :O so fast so fast!
and guess what our tutors told us? "pls come to school prepared for your tutorials on tuesday!" -.- gosh we just fought a crazy battle and we're going for war again!!
and guess what i fell sick, after days of 4hour-sleeps. but i'm considered one of the lucky ones who actually got more than 2hours of sleep. *coughckcough*
i think i'm transforming to a LAME NERD! below are some evidence, drew them when i was bored studying bio, not because it's boring, just that i was bored. (:

CNY celebration!
CNY so far is sooo boring! been stuck at home doing NOTHING, and so far only gone to visit ONE relative. hopefully tmr's going to be better! but the CNY celebration on friday was BORING too, except that playing around with one another was fun! hehe. here's some pics i took!
we must cover chris' hair! it's too pubish! take the box quick!
so after celebration i went for steamboat with minops at the north pole (puay's house).
ate quite lots of food, and they made this chocolate fondue (or however u spell it). it's digusting man! so much chocolate! i ate 4 marmallows then wanted to puke! how can GIRLS stand eating SO MUCH RICH chocolate? yucks man! grow fat only!
yes so CNY is darn boring! so much homework to do still! ARGH! how i wish i can just be in a dream and dont wake up for a few hours! cant say dont wake up forever wait if it happens it's not good! hehe! i had 2 nice dreams so far! hopefully dreams do come true! :D

wah!
wah i never blogged for one month! been so busy and lazy! mauahah! but nothing much to blog about lah!
just finished chem spa today. was rather easy i must say, standard lah. chionged then got like 5 min left to check through. quite fun but was very cold. and i keep laughing at the ppl around me. robert kept dropping his stuff, and wah toon kept making stupid faces.
so far, we had all the tests, maths, bio, chem, econs. and i'll probably faill 3/4 of them, caused i passed my maths! whooh!
anyway, just sold 1 of my guitar and dismantled another one and sold some of its parts. earning more cash now! going to invest in some cool pedals! i mean have already invested, need to recover. but there's one i've been waiting for DAMN LONG! not here yet. so nice, marshall kind of sound. marshall my fav amps. whooh!
ok that paragraph isnt for guitar fanatics, so u'll probably skip it.
and fac dance is cool, but i decide i wont go for anymore sessions. i cant dance! i cant remember anything! haha, wasting my time if i go there. boohoos. well i'll just stand aside and watch. hahaha
and so chinese new year is coming. wait, valentine's day first. hmmm that one ar, dont care lah. i've not celebrated it since i was born, and shall keep it that way until 23? haha! valentines...wat rubbish! but! CNY! that means ang pow and money! but i bet i'll get less than $100? ah heck! i never really like CNY except for the breaks and the bagua. i prefer christmas season. but last christmas was real boring. didnt do much, everyone was visiting here and there, i was stuck at home. and new year was ok only. hmph. must do more stuff once i turn 18 this year! :D

just finished chem spa today. was rather easy i must say, standard lah. chionged then got like 5 min left to check through. quite fun but was very cold. and i keep laughing at the ppl around me. robert kept dropping his stuff, and wah toon kept making stupid faces.
so far, we had all the tests, maths, bio, chem, econs. and i'll probably faill 3/4 of them, caused i passed my maths! whooh!
anyway, just sold 1 of my guitar and dismantled another one and sold some of its parts. earning more cash now! going to invest in some cool pedals! i mean have already invested, need to recover. but there's one i've been waiting for DAMN LONG! not here yet. so nice, marshall kind of sound. marshall my fav amps. whooh!
ok that paragraph isnt for guitar fanatics, so u'll probably skip it.
and fac dance is cool, but i decide i wont go for anymore sessions. i cant dance! i cant remember anything! haha, wasting my time if i go there. boohoos. well i'll just stand aside and watch. hahaha
and so chinese new year is coming. wait, valentine's day first. hmmm that one ar, dont care lah. i've not celebrated it since i was born, and shall keep it that way until 23? haha! valentines...wat rubbish! but! 2nd day of school
today marks the end of 2nd day of school. 1st day was horrible. why?
1. ms wang said i look like a korean because of my supposedly SLITTY EYES! what! i dont have slitty eyes! hmph.
2. i lost my way on the way home. walked in circles but couldnt find the place home! so i took the usual long way. reached home sweating like crap. was very angry.
3. had a stupid bio test to study for, but only studied for 2 hours. reached home at 8.30 only. started to study at 9pm after dinner. what the hell man!
today, the 2nd day, we had to write a stupid GP essay, and do a stupid bio test which was rather easy if u studied but i didnt. oh man crap. luckily not counted hehs. and bukit timah is seriously such an ulu piece of land! there's no MRT. traffic jam how? walking to main road with all my equipment how? can die man! so jialat!
anyway hope 2007 will be great! because the teachers are scaring the bones out of us, saying how horrible As are and how we will die if we dont start in midyear. GOSH!

bye 2006! i miss you!
last year 2006 has been an eventful year. there were a series of events, in which some were worthy to remember, and some were painful to remember. let's recap...
1. start of JC life
i remember the first day of school, i was excited to go JC and experience life there. one year has passed so quickly. now it's As this year. then NS, then uni, then what's next?
2. second generation of HCians in YHope
i remember bringing robert and ryan once again at start of the year. i kept praying they would commit. one year later, they're doing strong and well. same for the rest like Jon, Yvonne, Fungmin (easter batch).
3. june encounter camp
my first time playing for all slots in camp. i had just enlisted into the most cool CG, ywam! hehe. where the cool and good looking people are! no wonder i belong there man! AHAHAH! no lah jk jk. during that time i was super tired balancing pastoral and playing for church. i already started playing since january i think, but only part time. thanks ian for guiding me!
during camp everything was awesome! the whole youth grew to a next level in the Holy Spirit including me. great to see the new believers joining us then. like yongsheng too.
4. blocks
not so eventful thing to remember, but lesson to learn to work hard. but they screwed us up lah stupid HC!
5. Hope 15th Anniversary
first mega event for me to play for church level. was really excited but usually ended very late and got scolding from parents/sis. was a period of testing as i was struggling to stay awake in lectures, complete tutorials, study for tests, and play guitar. but was a great one for the whole church!
6. promos
another not so eventful thing, but luckily i made it through with God's grace! didnt expect to make it though. 2007 will chiong hard!
7. theory exam
after promos, still have to study. but thank God was the last theory exam i had to sit for. finally cleared it once and for all! hopefully can teach part time and earn cash!
8. water baptism
a new chapter in my christian life! was water baptised, now called ephraim as well. but there's still problems i struggle with. i commit them to God and i will be strong!
9. december breakthru camp
another great camp as always. had a new addition to the team. sherman who played part time. great job boy boy! God sees your spirit!
pastor David Chen really taught well, and it fired up everyone's hearts. including the MinOps. subsequently, great things would happen...
10. christmas harvest!
woot! this is the highlight of the year! christmas! everyone loves xmas! i love it to bits and pieces and pins and needles!
we hit our target! the whole youth did! so happy! a new beginning for 2007 with new people to join us!
looking back, lots of things happened, but only these 10 major events. 2006 is really a good year. i feel i accomplished so much compared to 2005. 2007 will be better!
